HELD 16TH JULY, 2007
I am pleased to report that the Bega Chamber of Commerce and Industry has had another productive and successful year. Once again, we are asking for your involvement and support in promoting Bega in the coming year.
Some of the highlights of the past year include

- Guest speakers at our meetings have also been a part of our commitment to keep people up to date and informed.
- The chamber continued to lobby for the Bega Bypass and major repairs to black spots on our highways.
- After 9 years the Chamber handed over the operation of the Tourist Information Centre on the 1st July 2006 to the Bega Cheese Heritage Centre. Bega Valley Shire Council has since recommended that other Visitor Information Centres within the shire be run using a similar model to the one agreed to by the Bega Chamber and Bega Cheese.

- Major changes in the Bega Business Awards from a yearly to monthly prize winners, culminating with a Major function for all monthly winners in July with a Major prize of a holiday for two people to be drawn on the night. The change was to encourage businesses to look at their presentation and customer service at all times during the year.
