After an incredible 18 years of dedicated service to the Bega Chamber of Commerce, Malcolm Barnes is stepping down from the Executive team.
Mal has been a driving force behind many of the Chamber’s successes – serving five years as President, over a decade as Vice-President, and taking on countless roles including Public Officer, committee member, and mentor.
His leadership wasn’t just about titles. Mal’s steady, practical approach earned him the respect of business leaders, local government, and the broader community. From championing local issues like parking, public spaces, and community events, to his pivotal role in projects like the Festival of the Face, Mal’s contribution has shaped both the Chamber and the town we’re proud to call home.
We’ll miss his wise counsel, retail insight, and unwavering support – but we know his legacy will continue to make a difference for years to come.
