The Bega Show Society is gearing up for a major milestone – the 150th Far South Coast National Show, returning in 2026 after significant upgrades to the Bega Showground.

With a newly constructed Community and Evacuation Centre, a beautifully restored Main Pavilion, and a range of improved facilities across the site, this historic event is set to be bigger and better than ever.

As planning begins, the Bega Show Society is inviting new and returning members of the community to get involved in shaping the 150th Show. Whether you’re interested in behind-the-scenes organising or hands-on roles during showtime, your help is needed to bring this cherished Bega Valley tradition to life.

Volunteer Roles & Areas of Interest:

• Animal Nursery – Help coordinate and care for young animals and ensure safe visitor experiences.

• Bar – Serve drinks (RSA required).

• Catering – Assist with food for volunteers (Food handling certificate desirable).

• Commercial Sites – Manage bookings and site organisation.

• Electronic Media & IT – Support ticketing, website updates, and digital systems.

• Entertainment – Help plan and manage the Show’s entertainment lineup.

• Pavilion – Steward entries, assist judges, and manage displays.

• Publicity – Promote the Show via media releases and advertising.

• Ring Events – Ideal for those experienced with horses or livestock; help manage events and transitions.

• Secretary/Treasurer – Key organisational roles; may be split between two people.

• Sponsorship – Reach out to businesses and community members to secure support.

• Volunteer Coordinator – Recruit and manage volunteers, inductions, rosters, and updates.

• Workplace Health & Safety – Ensure safe planning and operations.

• Young Woman/Showgirl Program – Help coordinate this long-standing tradition.

Whether you have specialist skills or simply want to lend a hand, your contribution will help ensure the ongoing success of one of the region’s most loved community events.
