Retail Revitalisation
Recently the Executive have been discussing how we can revitalise and stimulate the entire retail community to work together to promote the town and the great shopping and businesses we offer.
To that end we have engaged Quality Matters Consulting to work with us to come up with some new and innovative strategies.
Over the coming weeks we will be sending out an online survey to get your feedback. We would like to know what you think has worked in the past and what didn’t. What your Chamber is doing well and what it’s not.
Most importantly we want to hear your ideas of how we can stimulate business. What have you seen work elsewhere; what you have done in your business that could be expanded to include everyone. These could be really big ideas or just smaller simple things we can achieve.
Apart from the online survey the team from Quality Matters Consulting will be contacting a number of our retailers both members and non-members to dig a little deeper. If you are contacted, we would really appreciate your contributions.
Save the date: This process will culminate in a workshop to be held on Tuesday the 3rd of September where we want to get a representative from every retail business in town to attend. We would like to bring together every owner or Manager in one place to discuss this openly and develop strategies together to move forward. If you are a manager of a franchise, then we would like to invite your regional Managers along as well.
None of us can survive standing on our own. We need to be working together to make Bega an attractive place for customers to come, browse, shop, do their banking or whatever. Together we can reinforce Bega as the Regional centre of the Shire and help each other to grow.
Addition to Website
The Chamber gets many requests to publicise news and events from other organisations many with strong connections to the Chamber. To that end we have added a community page to our website to provide another platform for them to promote their event or pass on some news. If you have something you want to share just go to the website click on the community tab and then submit your event or news details.
Annual Meeting
The Bega Chamber’s Annual meeting will be held on July 17th at the Commemorative Civic Centre.
As you know the Chamber is a volunteer organisation that exists to support the business community. As we approach the Annual meeting I would like to encourage you to consider getting more involved. All positions will be vacated at the Annual meeting and if you would like to know more about how you could get involved, I would encourage you to reach out for a chat.
