BEGA VALLEY BUSINESS AWARDS –
I am sure everyone has seen by now the Bega Valley Business Forum (the combined Chambers of the Bega Valley) are staging the first Shire Wide Awards. It was fantastic to see over 900 nominations for businesses across a range of activities. It was also great to see that there were nominations from the full breadth of the Shire from Bermagui to Eden. The committee have spent many hours researching, reading and investigating businesses and individuals to eventually narrow down each category to three finalists. Winners will be announced at our Black-Tie event being staged at Club Sapphire on Saturday June 17th.

We would like to congratulate all the nominees with many businesses receiving lots and lots of nominations including some wonderful heartful messages.

A special congratulations to those that are finalists. It is a tribute to your business, your professionalism and your customer service to achieve such recognition.

Coming up this month we are staging a networking night at the Commonwealth Bank in Bega on Tuesday 20th June from 5:30pm. The theme of the night is the very topical subject of Cyber Security. We would like to encourage you all to come along – you don’t need to be a Commonwealth Bank Customer to attend.

Mayor of Bega Valley Shire Council, Mr Russell Fitzpatrick also attended the meeting and explained the proposed rate increases and how it would impact your total rates.
A number of other issues were discussed with the Mayor including housing, Councils struggle with being short staffed, parking and parking fines.
